June Feature - Carandale Farms Strawberries
Strawberry season in Wisconsin is short, sweet, and worth celebrating. This month, St. Charles Station is featuring strawberries from Carandale Fruit Farm in Oregon, Wisconsin, one of Chef Dave’s favorite places for beautiful local berries.
Carandale has been growing fruit for the Dane County area since 1969, and strawberries remain at the heart of what they do. Their farm offers both U-pick and pre-picked strawberries during the season, giving families a chance to enjoy the berries right from the field or bring home freshly picked fruit while the season lasts.
Our June Featured Farmer menu brings those berries into every course, from a strawberry salad and strawberry-shrimp ceviche to roast chicken with strawberry chutney and a lemon corn cake with macerated strawberries.
Our 4 Course Featured Menu is $50, and each dish is also available à la carte at the listed prices. All items are gluten free as prepared, and each course can also be made vegetarian with thoughtful substitutions. Pair it with our featured cocktail, the Strawberry Mojito, made with fresh Wisconsin strawberries, basil and mint from our garden, spiced rum, lime juice, and soda. Reservations are encouraged.
Can’t wait to see you out here soon!!! The dinner is available for carry out as well - order on-line here.
